Charcoal – Boxes in a Space
I don’t have too much to say about this one. I did a lot of these long-shot, deep perspective, spacey looking pieces. I like geometric shapes, they feel really pure and open ended. This lets me as an artist focus on how the pieces talk to one another. I can tell this was an experimental piece in which I was figuring out how to extend those shapes with lines so they could occupy more of the page (I did this a lot as well, but this piece looks less sure of the process).
