The 2023 July playlist starts with a literal banger, Weird Al's Hardware Store. It goes very hard - so hard we often skip it. It's a lot for early mornings.
One of our neighbors had a party where we overheard Vreteno by Zeljko Joksimovic. I have no idea what the translation is, so please don't judge us if it's weird. I just know it sounds like Bollywood music with (looks like Serbian?) lyrics and I find that fascinating.
There's a great song by Saint Motel called Sisters. It's catchy, sweet, and will stick in your head. Ammi spent the whole month thinking this song was from a musical because it's from the album titled "The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" which is a hilarious name for an album.
In case you missed it, Fall Out Boy did a cover/reboot of Billy Joel's We Didn't Start The Fire. It's quite good, if maybe a little bland (sorry FOB). It's not bad, it's just that now they're rich middle aged dudes so the edge is different.
Brittany released a new track with will.i.am. It's fine. I like Brittany so I will listen to it a lot.
Driving To The Sea by ERIC is just fun.
One of the best new discoveries from this list is Mon Rovîa who we found via Instagram marketing blitz. Catchy and chill. Good stuff.
My favorite song from this month is Jericho by Iniko. It's an extremely catchy lyrical melody with very simple downbeat accompaniment. Don't miss it.
Until next time, ciao.
