Playlist Compilation

We have been focused on our offline lives, so haven't updated the website in a long while. That includes our monthly playlist but, i'faith dear reader, we are still making them. Most months anyway. Here is what you've missed (February 2024 – July 2026)...

2024

Last months living in Croatia

Unter February 2024 we did big things. We spent Valentine's Day weekend in Dubrovnik and fell in love with a second Croatian city. We picked bags and bags of mandarin & lemons from our yard. We celebrated the end of winter in Croatia. And we started planning the trip home.

Unter March 2024 we spent Ammi's 43rd birthday week back in Dubrovnik. We finished the month by exploring Omiš on Easter weekend where we ate some amazing seafood and hopefully did not watch an infant get brain damage (dad wasn't paying attention and granite sidewalks are hard).

Unter April 2024 we explored some of our favorite places around Split as the weather reached perfection. We visited with friends as much as possible before we moved back to the US.

May 2024 kept bringing big things. First we joined some US friends in Italy for our shared anniversary (they married several years before us). Then we visited Hvar Island for a magical island adventure. Finally, we said goodbye to our friends and home in Split. It was a busy month.

Traveling Across the World

In June 2024 we left Split and started our month long trek across Europe on our way home. We spent the first part of our road trip visiting Zagreb, another Croatian city to love. This is the first of the road trip playlists.

After Zagreb, we had a surprise stop in Salzburg, Austria before joining our original itinerary in Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany on our road trip across Europe.

After Germany, we spent time in Luxemburg, Brussels, und Calais before doing Summer Solstice in Avebury while waiting for the Queen Mary in Southampton.

After a week aboard the Queen Mary 2 we disembarked in NYC. We drove as quickly as possible to Bowling Green, Kentucky to spend a month and change with family and friends between Kentucky & Tennessee.

Calling Rhode Island Home

In August 2024 we did something else everyone thought was crazy. We moved everything to Providence, Rhode Island. One of the most difficult housing markets in the country (we found out after moving here). We started house hunting... it would take 16 months before we found our home.

In September 2024 we explored our temporary neighborhood in East Providence. We house-hunted and tried New England cuisine. We got settled into our temp housing rental.

October was our first New England autumn and it was beautiful. We went to Adams Farm with the pups and explored several new parks around Rhode Island. Our friends Shauna & John came to visit from TN. We also looked at houses, so many houses.

We realized purchasing a house here would take longer than we had hoped. So we started looking for apartment rentals. We found the apartment we would live in until we bought (and remodeled) our home. Our friends Jason and Meagan came to visit from KY.

We experienced our first Rhode Island snow and our first New England Christmas. We enjoyed the roads being safe despite the snow. Being from the southern US, that's not something we expect.

2025

January 2025 we bought a couch and were getting settled into our new apartment. We paused the house search for a some downtime. We had more snow.

In February 2025 we had more snow. So much snow. We also celebrated Valentine's Day and Cirrus' gotcha day.

In March 2025, our first Spring in New England started to bloom. We celebrated Ammi's 44th birthday and enjoyed many walks in the brisk weather.

April 2025 we went to Newport for the Daffodil festival. We didn't realize it would be 30 degrees colder only an hour away. We enjoyed spring slowly springing.

May 2025 we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary, we made friends in our neighborhood, and we explored Rhode Island.

In June 2025 we started our first summer without central air (or Croatian concrete insulation). You might think summers in New England are mild - you would be wrong. Magnus got his first wagon and we tried to stay cool.

In July 2025 we dealt with pet emergencies for both pups. Cirrus had a burst anal gland and Magnus had an eye issue that took months of visits to fix. We upgraded the pups wagon to Snoopy's Radio Flyer Wagon and we explored despite any issues.

In August 2025 Magnus turned 13. Cirrus got us all invited to a puppy birthday party with neighbors because he and the birthday girl (Cookie) were making eyes at each other every time we passed. And we also visited Salem, Massachusetts for the first time.

September 2025, we celebrated Daniel's 42nd birthday, still in Salem. We started prepping for Halloween. We explored the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. It felt nice to spend some time in the Appalachian Mountains.

We started October still in Western Massachusetts in the mountains. New puppy friends moved into the house next door so Magnus and Cirrus made fast friends. We participated in a protest. Ammi got a new camera and Daniel got a new guitar. We dressed as Granny Weatherwax and Rincewind from Discworld for Halloween. We started warily house hunting again.

After our first winter in New England, we bought a sun lamp. We enjoyed the last of the fall colors. We met Jason and Meagan in the Hudson Valley for a wonderful visit. We found a place online to buy some of our favorite Croatian snacks and drinks.

We spent December 2025 house hunting with vigor. Finally, at the end of the month we made an offer that was accepted! 2026 would be the year we became Rhode Island homeowners.

2026

January we had a house inspection, started planning renovations, and had our very first (historic) blizzard. Did we mention we got a lot of snow this winter? We got a lot. Of snow.

In February it snowed again, another blizzard. Remember? Lotsa snow. We closed on the house. Daniel was RIF'd from Autodesk. We started working on the house. It was a busy month.

In March we celebrated Ammi's birthday with a new HVAC, new plumbing, new electrical panel, refinished floors, and a reglazed bathroom. We marched in a protest. Things started blooming.

In April our new yard started blooming and we met Frankie, the woodchuck that lives in the neighbors back yard. We installed a new kitchen, a new bathroom vanity, and new lighting.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary by finishing our new kitchen. We got a beautiful new mailbox. We moved into our newly remodeled home. Then we got new windows, which did not happen in the order we had been hoping for, but it worked.

In June 2026, Frankie (the woodchuck) had babies. We got peaches from the Peach Truck. We explored parks all over our new side of Providence. Daniel started a new job.

In July 2026 we went to Philadelphia to watch one of our oldest friends marry the love of his life, a beautiful NASA scientist. We decorated and made our home feel like our own.
