Cosa dire di me. Sono nata nel nord del Tennessee, ma solo perché all'epoca l'ospedale locale del Kentucky non faceva nascere bambini. Sono cresciuta e sono andata a scuola nelle zone rurali del Kentucky meridionale.
Quando è arrivato il momento dell'università, come non detto, ho frequentato una scuola nel Kentucky (Western Kentucky University). Mi sono laureata in Design (come arte, non come marketing). Lì ho realizzato sculture, ceramiche, dipinti a olio e molti molti disegni a carboncino. Ho seguito più corsi di storia dell'arte di quanti ne ricordi. Eccellevo nell'arte digitale e mi divertivo molto.
Che altro? Da adulta ci siamo trasferiti a Nashville, TN. Mi piace andare in bicicletta, suonare l'ukulele e fare ceramica ogni volta che ne ho l'occasione. Mi mancano le lezioni settimanali di ceramica e spero di tornare a praticarle un giorno.
In late 2022/2023, we moved with our pups from Nashville to Split, Croatia. The pace of life was so different and I loved being able to walk to bakeries, markets, and historic sites.
We've now settled back in the US in Providence, RI. New England life has been great, although winter has been... let's say "an adjustment". Despite this, we've found New Englanders universally welcoming and kind. Not always nice (by their own admission), but almost always kind. They frequently claim that they're rude, brash, and unwelcoming while simultaneously being some of the kindest, most welcoming folks I've ever met. I feel so fortunate to be here with our little family on this new adventure.
I’m an experienced software engineer. I love figuring out how things work and how I can build rad software to make them work better. I now work for Autodesk Construction Solutions who have been amazing throughout a very difficult time in my life and our subsequent choice to live as digital nomads.
In the past, I’ve built software for Eventbrite, medical software, qualitative research, point-of-sale, and manufacturing.
Sono convinto che la mia eredità nel mondo del software non sarà il software che mi sono lasciato alle spalle. Piuttosto, la lunga lista di colleghi e amici da cui ho imparato e a cui ho fatto da mentore in ruoli più alti.
